Going on the Dandeli trip with The Nemophilist has been an eye-opening experience. I say eye-opening, because being with master birder Siddharth on this trip has given me new eyes to not just spot... birds, but also appreciate the beauty of the birdwatching experience. "In what is otherwise a graveyard of trees, the hornbill finds a flourishing habitat," he said, as we entered the Timber Depot in Dandeli, where numerous hornbills go about their life cycles, unmindful of the human activity going on about them. This context, so important to preserve the silence and sanctity of the activity, is preserved carefully by The Nemophilist. Don't expect lavish accommodations, luxurious travel arrangements, five-star service. Instead, what you'll get is a simple, earthy, authentic, close-to-nature experience that is, and should be, the natural culmination of birding (Once you've had the herbal tea, lemonade and post-meal digestive drink made with the fresh ingredients of Hakki Mane's kitchen garden, you'll forget the uninspired food served in fancy restaurants). The trip served up all flavours - the meditative silence of birding, the chatty camaraderie among the group of birders (Siddharth leading the pack with his good humour) and the thrill of furtively chasing a Trogon pair through a thicket of woods for a better view. With the expertise and good-natured guidance that SIddharth brings to the table, one comes away enriched, knowing a little more than one used to, a little more struck by the wonder of the bird world around us. I didn't have a camera with me (the trip caters very well to photographers), yet have carried back memorable impressions in my mind. Went to Dandeli birding trip. It was a very good experience overall. Sidharth (From Nemophilist Team) was our main POC throughout, he organised, coordinated and made all the effort to make sure,... everything goes smooth and we cover all the checklist which has been planned. He had a ton of knowledge for all kinds of birds, their behaviours and I must say that has helped a lot to identify and capture lots of beautiful moments. So a big thank you to him 😃🙏.Other than the birding, I enjoyed the place where we stayed - the hospitality was truly commendable, and of-course Not to forget the delicious food 😋 😃read more

I have had the privilege of joining two tours with Nemophilist and the experience has been extremely enriching. The tours are well curated to ensure great wildlife & birding experience. Siddharth is... immensely knowledgeable about birds, their behaviors and their calling – amazing to see how quickly he spots and identifies a bird.The tour environment is lively and pleasant which makes you feel at home and you feel surrounded by friends. I attended their wildlife photography course.After attending the same I have started shooting in manual mode. Various concepts like metering modes , white balance etc were explained in detail. Excellent mentorship on wildlife photography, in depth knowledge on wildlife. Birding and their photography has been wonderful. The Nemophilist have in depth knowledge of the birds, their calling,... behavior and the timing to take the right shot.Myself being a beginner, my photography skills have improved to a great extent under mentorship of Nemophilist. When your kid gets up at 5.30 on a sunday morning without hesitation, it is a sign how much he is liking the activity. I myself being a trekker, I know how much enthusiasm is needed to keep the whole... group going and how much risk is involved. Both these sides were very well taken care of for all 3 Sunday's my son went with the team. I think it's best way to make kids sensitive towards environment. I planned a trip to Jim Corbett with the Nemophilist. It was a memorable trip for me and I’ll always cherish those moments I had. I can definitely say that Jim Corbett National Park should be in... everyone’s bucket list and I’ll visit again for sure! If you’re a wildlife enthusiast or into wildlife photography who loves to capture animals and birds, you definitely need to plan a trip with thenemophilists. They do more than what you see on their website. Or, if you’re just like me who gets lost into thoughts when you see scenic beauty, then traveling to dense forests is the best experience you could get.read more
